Terms of service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, connecting a WooCommerce store, or otherwise accessing Revtrace, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are accepting on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

2. Service Description

Revtrace is a server-side marketing attribution platform for WooCommerce stores. It collects first-party data via a WordPress plugin installed on your store, attributes orders to marketing channels and campaigns, and provides analytics, AI-generated insights, and integrations with Meta and Google advertising platforms.

The service is provided as software-as-a-service (SaaS) and accessed through a web dashboard at app.revtrace.io. We may add, modify, or remove features over time; material changes that affect paid functionality will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice.

3. Account Registration

To use Revtrace you must create an account with a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password secure and not sharing it with others
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately at info@revtrace.io if you suspect unauthorised access

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms or that have been inactive for more than 12 months after a trial has expired without a subscription.

Team access

Agency plan subscribers may invite additional team members to their stores. Each team member must agree to these terms individually. You are responsible for the actions of team members you invite.

4. 21-Day Free Trial

New accounts receive a 21-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial.

What happens when the trial ends

When your trial period expires:

• Your account is paused, not deleted — your data is retained
• Dashboard access is suspended until you subscribe to a paid plan
• The WooCommerce plugin stops sending data until access is restored
• You are not automatically charged — there is no credit card on file

You can reactivate your account at any time by subscribing to a paid plan. All historical data collected during the trial will be available immediately upon reactivation.

One trial per entity

One free trial per person, business, or WooCommerce store domain. Creating multiple accounts to extend a trial is a violation of these terms and may result in all associated accounts being terminated.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Plans and pricing

Paid plans are billed monthly in euros (EUR). Current pricing is published on our Pricing page. Prices may change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. Revtrace does not store full card details — all payment data is handled by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not issue refunds for partial periods.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will retry up to three times over seven days. If payment cannot be collected, your account will be suspended until the outstanding balance is settled. We will notify you by email before and after suspension.

Taxes

Prices shown are exclusive of VAT where applicable. EU business customers may provide a valid VAT registration number to receive invoices without Finnish VAT applied. Private consumers in the EU are charged VAT at the applicable rate for their country of residence.

6. Acceptable Use

You may use Revtrace only for lawful purposes in connection with your own WooCommerce stores. You must not:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of Revtrace
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written permission (except Agency plan subscribers managing stores on behalf of clients, which is explicitly permitted)
• Use the service to track individuals without their knowledge in violation of applicable law
• Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls
• Connect stores or domains you do not own or have explicit authority to manage
• Introduce malicious code, attempt to disrupt the service, or perform security attacks against our infrastructure
• Use AI features to generate outputs that violate applicable law or third-party rights

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.

7. Data and Privacy

Your data

You retain ownership of all data collected by the Revtrace plugin from your WooCommerce store. We process this data solely to provide the service to you and do not sell, share, or use it for any other purpose.

Data processing agreement

Under the GDPR, Revtrace acts as a data processor for the end-customer data collected by your store (order IDs, UTM parameters, session identifiers, and similar attribution signals). You, as the merchant, are the data controller for this data. By using the service, you enter into a data processing agreement with us on the terms described in our Privacy Policy.

Data retention on cancellation

If you cancel your subscription, your store data is retained for 30 days to allow reactivation. After 30 days, attribution data is permanently deleted. Account records required for tax purposes are retained for 7 years as required by Finnish law.

GDPR compliance

We process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679). For full details on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

Revtrace and all associated software, designs, trademarks, and content are the intellectual property of Revtrace and its licensors. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the service.

Your content

You grant Revtrace a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Revtrace, you grant us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. We are not obligated to act on feedback.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep Revtrace available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

We may perform planned maintenance with advance notice where possible. For unplanned outages, we will communicate status updates by email and will work to restore service as quickly as possible.

We are not responsible for interruptions caused by your WooCommerce host, internet service provider, or third-party integrations such as Meta or Google Ads.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revtrace's total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to the extent such exclusions are not permitted under Finnish law.

11. Termination

By you

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@revtrace.io or from your account settings. Closing your account cancels any active subscription and schedules your data for deletion after 30 days.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. In cases of payment failure or inactivity, we will give reasonable notice before permanent deletion.

Effect of termination

On termination, your right to access the service ends immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The updated terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you may cancel your account before they take effect.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Revtrace that cannot be resolved through direct negotiation will be submitted to the District Court of Helsinki as the court of first instance.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also submit a complaint to the Online Dispute Resolution platform operated by the European Commission at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
